Our goal with this viral video project was to truthfully, but comically, unveil and address the harsh reality of what it has been like for consumers to research their health insurance options for almost the past two decades. I think that most of us, at some point in our lives, have had the unfortunate experience of filling out a form on a website, expecting specific information or price quotes but instead of getting the information you expected, you get barraged with an endless stream of random calls from agents and brokers who somehow received your contact information. This is something that's been going on since the early days of the internet and it is still going on!
That's the experience we as a company loathe. So we simply don't take part in it.
We don't collect a consumer’s information and then resell it.
We don't robo-dial consumers.
We don't use any of the slimy tactics our "competitors" do.
We treat people precisely how we would want to be treated.
Unfortunately most if not all of our competitors employ really abusive marketing practices. Most consumers don’t realize that this practice is widely in effect until it’s way too late, so we thought that a great way for us to help get consumer’s attention, and in effect help warn them about the dangers of filling out any random website’s lead form, was by making fun our competitors that operate with that shady business model of misleading and annoying consumers.
This could come off to some as us being smug, but that's really not our intention. We honestly feel like the people running companies that promise to provide price quotes only to simply collect consumer information and then resell it dozens of times - misleading consumers along the way - making an already nerve wracking experience even more difficult - should have a hard time sleeping at night. Seriously!
We're really proud that HealthNetwork doesn't participate in any of that "stuff". We protect consumers, we don't share their information, and we also don't collect anything that's personal either. The HealthNetwork experience really is unique and it is working! It's no wonder that we now reach more than 15 million health insurance shoppers annually.
Thanks for watching our viral video! It was a lot of hard work but we had so much fun making it, especially getting to take people back to the year 2000. From the Blockbuster VHS videos, which are apparently collector’s items now (they cost us $25 each on eBay), to the tape rewinders, the old tube TV, the original iMac, the StarTAC cell phone, the year 2000 yellow G-Shock watch (also from eBay) and Uncle Larry's office, it was such a blast going back in time!
